EAST DUNDEE, IL – A person was left in critical condition as a result of an SUV and semi-truck crash in East Dundee on Saturday.
NBCChicago said the incident unfolded in the area of East Main Street and Commonwealth Drive. Preliminary details from East Dundee police show that a semi-truck and SUV collided in a turning lane on eastbound Main Street.
The impact of the crash led one SUV occupant to be entrapped inside the vehicle.
Minutes later, just before 11:45 a.m., East Dundee and Countryside fire crews pulled up to the scene and extricated the trapped person before EMS took them to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
Paramedics said they treated a second person on site and released them at the scene.
Local police are actively working to pinpoint the contributing factors behind the crash.
